I would avoid, if possible, the entire state

I moved to Maryalnd in 1998 from Tennessee. I lived at Savannah Trace from 1998-2004. Loved it at first, especially the outdoor separate entraces for each unit. But the more I saw of the DC area, the more I realized I made a huge mistake moving into Maryland. I should've moved to Virginia and commuted to my job even though it would've been far away.
When I was offered a job in Chicago in 2004, I packed up what I could and high tailed it out of Maryland. Chicago is great, and I realize even more what a sad state Maryland is in compared to the rest of the country.
Md has a lot of potential, but the local politicians, ie. overlords, are more concerned with harnessing more power for themselves than cultivating a descent prosperous free society. We unfortunate subjects of the Md. general assembly have little say in our lives. Sad because maryland has some nice potential, beautiful state with lots in it for so small. But I'm glad I'm gone.
As for Bowling Brook, it would be considerd upscale for this state. But that isn't saying much. If you move in, you will be surrounded by the full spectrum of poverty and welfare and ghetto living. That's pretty much maryland. You can't escape the dependent class. The state legislature loves dependents, makes them more powerful.
So unforutantely that means a lot of crime and deliquency.
So sad.. But i'm gone and Chicaog is notthing like that.

(Aug. 30) - The Census Bureau -- which deals in big numbers, like the total number of Americans (299,599,204 as of 7 p.m. yesterday) and the percentage of households with incomes above $100,000 (17.2% last year) -- is taking a magnifying glass to the economy and offering fresh details about American communities and disparities among them. Among counties with populations of more than 250,000, the three where the households had the highest median incomes (the point at which half the households earn more, and half less) were in suburban Washington, D.C. -- Loudoun and Fairfax counties in Virginia and Howard County in Maryland. |

There is poverty everywhere. I've been to Chicago and it has it's sections in the city. Although I am not a native of Maryland, it does have some nice spots. I wouldn't classify the whole state as being so negative...this is why stereotypes continue to exists and nothing changes because of the ignorance people continue to have within themselves. I hope Chicago is treating you a bit better.
