DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS! YOU WILL PAY OUTRAGEOUS ELECTRIC BILLS. I LIVED THERE FOR 5 YEARS AND THE FIRST 3 YEARS WERE AVERAGE COST. MY LAST TWO YEARS MY BILLS DOUBLED AND EVEN TRIPLED! I UNDERSTAND THAT RATES GO UP BUT MY KILOWATTS WENT UP AS WELL WHICH SHOULD NO BE. MY AVERAGE BILL IN THE SUMMER WITHOUT RUNNING A/C WAS $180 A MONTH. IF I WANTED TO BE COOL THEN I HAD TO PAY OVER $200 A MONTH. I NOW OWN A TOWNHOME AND PAID $65 A MONTH AND I EVEN RAN THE A/C FOR SEVERAL DAYS IN A ROW.
MY OTHER COMPLAINT (AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU EITHER) IS THAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ELECTRIC BILL IF YOU MOVE OUT EARLY. I MOVED OUT MID AUGUST AND THEY PAID MY BGE BILL FROM MY SECURITY DEPOSIT. AND JUST HOW IS IT THAT AN EMPTY APARTMENT COSTS $218.84 IN ELECTRICITY FOR A PERIOD OF A MONTH AN A HALF' I HAVE LIVED IN APARTMENTS FOR OVER 25 YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER HAD TO PAY FOR THE ELECTRICITY ONCE I MOVED OUT. THE MANAGEMENT PROPERTY SHOULD BE PAYING FOR THAT!
THIS IS A PENNY PINCHING MANAGEMENT COMPANY. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT BEING LATE ON YOUR RENT. IF THEY DON'T HAVE IT IN THEIR HAND BY THE 5TH THEY CHARGE YOU A % OF THE RENT. IT'S NOT THAT IT HAS TO BE POSTMARKED BY THE 5TH BUT RATHER IN THEIR HAND BY THE 5TH. vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l

Good luck. I had the heat pump AND the thermostat replaced a year and a half ago and my bills continued to go up. I told the former management about it and ------- as well but nothing was done to look into it. If you bills are high, don't expect BGE to help either. They told me there was nothing wrong with my meter.

I've moved in and out of apartments for years, and ALL apartment complexes have the right to do this. It is very common. Especially the late fees. I viewed the apartments today and they said that they are going to be changing all thermostats and participating in a new BGE program that will offer lower rates and be more energy efficient. I have read other reviews of Bowling Brook and am very interested in possibly moving here.
