I have lived in Briarwood Apartments for 7 years and I think the new management is terrific. They are very professional and courteous.I commend them on the upgrades to the apartments and the complex. In comparison to the previous owners/leasing staff it is so refreshing. When I call the office for a repair, new information I receive an empathetic professional response. Opposed to the lackluster care the previous staff inflicted on the tenants, which was hard to contact slow on repairs and terrible on accounting for rental payments. To receive a letter that your rent is late because the staff place the rental payment in the wrong account is unexceptable.
For those of you whom feel otherwise give the Berkshire Company a fair chance. The have quite a mess to clean up from the prior leasing company and they are doing a fabulous job. Kudos to Berkshire on Briarwood.

I moved in a year ago and we live on a court which means there is limited parking and the kids hang out there and are out of control. On most days I come home from work to find that scooters, bicycles and balls are strewn all over the parking area. The kids are all out playing in the parking area and sometimes even inside the walls of the privacy screens that hide the big green garbage dumpster(not sure why they would be playing in such an unsanitary and dangerous area but they do). They will not move out of the way of oncoming traffic unless you blow your horn. I find this disturbing, not only is it a risk to a child being hit by a car but the fact that there's no adult supervision. And even after I park my car and asking them to not play around the cars they continue to do so. These kids need a playground and they need some form of adult supervision. I do, however, commend the new management company on its' efforts to upgrade the property but I do ask that something is done to keep the kids safe.

Whatever!! This is a nice spin from the property management company, it's an old trick!! Your neighbors sound as though they live in your unit. Forget living anywhere but on the third floor, the noise is awful. They pack 7 people to an apartment. The rif raf hang out in the parking lot at night, I've witnessed several drug deals going on. It looks nice but looks can and are deceiving.

Welcome to the ghetto, the shootings, and the killings that goes on here. The office knows this but they are not going to inform you. Ghetto kids in the parking lot. Beware of your car. Break ins that's daily for this hood. Feels like living in an old house, you can here your neighbors talk, snore etc. Did they tell you about the train. Makes everything shake. Enjoy.

I agree totaly with all of the noises, drug dealing, alcoholic infested area! Welcome to the most ghetto, triflin apartment complex! Kids all over the place. I'm afraid of my safety because of them being around the building so much that it frightens me to walk inside of my apartment! I do not feel safe! There are men hanging outside of the buildings drinking alcohol and all in the entrance of the building. They leave there evidence in the hallways and infront of the building! Somethin needs to be done. Managers are so disgusting and needs to be removed from the property beacause of the unprofessionalism they they give to the tenants and guest! U will see when you apply!!!

If you move to Briarwood, be prepared to never sleep again! Paper thin walls and at night you can hear your neighbor cough or talk, the creaking floors, and the bed squeaking. It's awful. Andduring the day, you'd think your neighbors are having a party - loud music blaring, foul language, and your walls will be vibrating. Teenagers hang outside the building and in the hallways making noise and roughing around. If you still want to move here, think again. I'd suggest you run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. The only good thing I've noticed is that those who work in the rental office are very attentive, and work requests are handled quickly.

Deeply concerned, I am scheduled to see a unit Aug.22, 2009. And while I know that no place is perfect, I can't deal with excessive noise, loitering, unruly children and the lack of safety. The community looks nice on the internet, which is why I wanted to see it in person. But, it sounds like I should just run for the hills and don't look back!
