LIKES: Fairly quiet community (except when upstairs neighbors feel amorous), maintenace responds quickly, conveniently located near freeways, priced competitively for area, large kitchen area, large walk-in closet
DISLIKES: Office staff impersonal and unpleasant, "exercise" room a total joke, apartment has smelled like smoke for 3 yrs now, venting is awful (we smell EVERY thing from other apts), no linen closet/bathroom closet, VERY OLD (carpet, flooring, bathroom fixtures, windows, screens, microwave, W/D...maintenance won't change our dryer though it doesn't dry clothes anymore so we line dry everything), dirty b/c they have added coats of paint and floor gloss on top of dirt and hair...ewww, has made me a VERIZON hater since they broke half our things while running cables through our storage closet and bedroom carpet and left our apt thrashed (I seriously thought we'd been robbed), increasing rent 7% this year because of the *wonderful* VERIZON upgrades so we are looking for a new place

I understand completely. When I moved into my apartment the kitchen was not clean (the refrigerator was dirty and the dishwasher had dried up food in it)! The washer and dryer was awful...whomever lived in the apartment previously never cleaned the washer and dryer...for that matter the floor around the washer and dryer was black....I had to clean all that up before I could use anything! I don't know who inspects the apartments when people move out but they need to be fired.

I know what ya mean. I just moved out a few months ago, but Verizon trashed my place as well, dropped insulation over all of our clothes in the closet, it was a complete mess!
The management didn't feel the need to compensate anyone for that, and that was one of the main reasons we left. The price jumps up every year, and every year it was getting worse.

Yes. My rent went up $100.00 a month. Neighbor's rent went up $150.00 a month. Office staff turns over every 18 months or so. A security person at the front between 11:00pm and 6:00am would be a big help but will never happen. The owners son who now runs the place raised the rent exorbitantly last year and many people moved out leaving many vacant apartments I was told. Only upgrade was painting front doors and balcony trim.
