not so great

I moved into Crestleigh in July 2003 b/c I needed a place to live, quick. The place seemed nice enough. We wereshown our unit and were impressed witht the size and a view of a dirty lake (still better than the oarking lot). We had no idea what we had gotten ourselves into. In the 11 months that we have lived here, we have had our water turned off at least twice a month, most of the time without any notice. (I was literaly in the shower once when it cut out) The days that the water has been cut off has been for hours, often 9am until even 7pm, once it was even off for 4 days in a row during these hours. The management is terrible. They do not return your calls, even to "emergency maintenence" and when someone at the office bothers to pick up the phone, they are rude and unprofessional, especially Thelma. Alot of effort is being made to better the appearance of the grounds while I am using cabinate doors and drawers that are falling apart. Beautification on the grounds takes place starting (loudly!) at 8am. The "gym" is the biggest joke. I have tried to use it on numerous occassions. The exercise bike is broke, as is the treadmill. The rowing machine has duct tape on it. All of this is assuming that you are even able to get into the gym because the management compnay has employee workshops held there and all of the furniture from the clubhouse area is shoved into, and on, the exercise equipment. There have also been times that I have been in the "gym" and someone fromt he office has come in to tell me that they are closing even though it is an hour before the posted closing time. I saw some other complaints about parking, but I have not had many problems and the complex is generally pretty safe if you can avoid the many children that are allowed to play in the street and dart out from behind parked cars. Oh yeah, and there is a rapid ant population filtering into our apartment through the bathroom tiles.
If you want to see more complaints about this management company, check out the reviews for Seven Springs Village in College Park or drive through Crestleigh and notice all the empty units... ours will be soon enough. Overall, definately not worth the ridiculous rent being charged to live here.
