My husband and I, like most of the other people who live here were FOOLED by the property; the grounds, large apartments and free utilities. We were told that the property had basketball courts, picnic area with grills and a carwash/detail area. We moved in the winter and were rushed for an apartment. We really never checked out the place. There's a cracked cement court which looks like it used to be a b-ball court 15 years ago with out the poles or hoops. The 'picnic area' is a grassy knoll in front of the tot lot which is literally 10 feet away from Muirkirk Road. Now they are no longer there and no one was notified of their removal or plans to replace. The office staff is highly unprofessional, the so-called soundproof construction of each apartment is a farce -- I hear my downstairs neighbors having sex and the upstairs neighbors walking across the floor. From my bedroom I have a lovely view of the parking lot; one of the two views you can get here...the other is a swampy, mosquito and rat infested 'pond', a runoff. The apartment contains outdated wallpaper and secondhand appliances. The maint. staff is OK and we usually can get a space in front of our building. The windows are also thin, you might need to get the dispoable insulator during the winter or buy very heavy curtains to keep out the draft that seeps through the windows in the winter. If you decide to drive through this complex for yourself, watch out for the children riding thier bikes and scooters that dart out from in between parked cars and those who play touch football in the lots as well. Let's not forget the children who are allowed to take out garbage and either drag the bag and drop it in the doorway of the garbage area so you have to step over open bags of garbage. Or the children who loiter the steps of the apartments...If you can deal with these variables, then call Crestleigh home.
