I moved here after in another Kay property and it was a definate step DOWN. The neighborhood is better, but that's about it. The office staff are nightmarish. Good luck getting anything even remotely looking like a rent receipt. Certain individuals seem to forget the fact your rent is what's paying their salary and treat you like you walked into their house and poohed their carpet. Sometimes, they will give you a photocopy of your rent check. What good is that supposed to be' Any poohbah can photocopy a check, that doesn't show you paid. Besides, your rent check comes back from the bank, so what was the photocopy supposed to represent'

The kids in the complex tear up EVERYTHING. Yesterday, a group of kids tore a section of fence down and laid it across the driveway and used it for a skating ramp.

And let me tell you about our new parking policy. Before, they had the same Kay standard tow at will policy, and someone had an idea that getting rid of guest parking passes in favor of visitor assigned spaces would be a good solution. It may have been except that means now, the people that pay to live here can not park, but people that are just dropping by can and do. They get a guaranteed space, you are footing it from the far side of the complex. Fair' Heck no.

There is a 'no barbeque grill' regulation in PG County. You can line the grills end to end from here to Montgomery county they are so prevelant. Does management do anything' No. well yes but it's stupid. They go around and put flyers in the doorway of every apartment, even those that do NOT have a grill, warning of being evicted for having a lease violation, then do nothing whatsoever. Why threaten people that do not have the grill, yet do not take action against those that DO'

And the water pipes are crap in this place. The water has to be turned off almost weekly for some reason or another. Our apartment has been flooded from above 5 times in the past year alone! And management's response when you complain at having yet again all your household items damaged' "Well that's why you should have renter's insurance to take care of it, it isn't our responsibility. Besides, we will repaint your apartment and won't charge you for it so..."

The kids, the noise, the trash not picked up, the neighbors, the horrible management....avoid Deerfield. It could be a fanastic place, I mean the apartments are lovely, but the people that rent here and the staff that works here makes it not worth it. Can't wait to leave here.
