Only if you can't find someplace more affordable

I have lived here for about 5 years total. I was in a 1 bedroom and then moved to a three bedroom. I have read what a lot of people said on this site, especially their comments about if you want parking or quiet buy a house. Well believe it or not everyone can't afford to buy a house. And when I pay over $1300 a month to live someplace, yes I expect certain things. As far as the parking, would it kill them to give some extra lighting since they are not able to provide more parking spaces. If I have to park at the end of the complex when I live at the opposite end and it is dark outside, I do not feel safe. As far as the noise, I realize that they can't control all the noise issues. However, when you have a neighbor who continuously plays their music so loud it can be heard from the street or a neighbor who every weekend has a domestic dispute, give me a breat. It's time for those people to be given their walking papers. As far as the management staff, I have learned it depends on who you talk to and what day you go in. Try walking in there on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. It's like a party is going on sometimes. A lot of people in there, and not all are interested in looking to move into Deerfield. My biggest complaint though is the maintenance and the constant repairs needed to the water. I recognize the complex is an older complex however I believe Deerfield's philosophy is patch instead of fix. I have mold in my bathroom. I lived with it for 2 years, using Tilex Mold and Mildew cleaner to take care of the tile. In the meantime my ceiling is covered. My daughter suffers from asthma. The first time I complained I had to call my request in 3 times before finally something was done. I came home from being out of town to find out that they had painted the ceiling. When I asked about the painting I was told the company hired had some sort of treatment in the paint to treat the mold. Yeah, right. That was in July/August time frame. It is now February. A month ago I called and reported the same problem. A maintenance person came over with a caulking gun to cover up the mold in the tiles. I explained to him that was not needed as I had already once again used Tilex. I pointed the ceiling out to him and told him that was the problem. He stated, that in order to keep the mold away I needed to wipe down my shower wall after each use. I informed him that Deerfield was the only place I had ever lived where mold was an issue. That seemed to surprise him. I am not sure where he has lived that he would think mold was a regular occurence. At any rate, he said he would talk to his manager about the ceiling. Well guess what, I am still waiting for something to be done. As I said, instead of actually correcting and fixing the problem, Deerfield seems more interested in patching and covering up. Why haven't I moved you ask' For the price, the space is good, though I have heard that new tenants are now expected to pay water. Am I looking to move' You better believe it. I am hopeful that by the time summer is over, I will be residing somewhere else. Deerfield raises the rent every year (as is their right), however I am unable to see improvements taking place in the complex. Oh, I forget, they did put lights in each of the stairwells. Which is definitely a good thing. Other then that and painting the door of the building once a year, as I said, I have yet to see noticable improvements. I surely hope the staff are getting decent raises.
