Can't wait to move out!

My apartment is spacious compared to others (living room and bedroom) But that is where the plusses end. The utilities are included. They love to tell you that, but what they don't tell you is that between Labor Day weekend and sometime after Memorial Day weekend, you can't get any AC. Now when have you known it to be cool in September and October' Or April or May for that matter. On a 3rd floor appartment with windows only on one side, there is NO CIRCULATION no matter how many fans you have on. The past 6 nights the temp. has registered a muggy 85 degrees in my living room. Now this is right by the sliding window to the balcony, with no sun, all lights off in the appartment, and two fans going in October! I asked about the AC. Once I was told that it had to be over a certain temp. for two weeks in a row before they could turn it on. Do they mean outside, or inside where it is about 20 degrees hotter. Then I was told that the AC and heat couldn't work at the same time and by law they have to provide heat starting in Sept. and until the end of May. Who in Maryland is using heat at the end of May!'!'!'! In fact, in the 5 1/2 years I have lived here I think I turned on the heat a total of 3 times. It is always soooo warm with stale air that you don't even need heat unless you want your appartment hot in the winter. I would be truly surprised if no pets, small children, or elderly have not died or become seriously ill as a result of these horrible living conditions. I have to find other places to stay at night just so I can study and get some sleep. The folks in the rental office aren't even nice about it. They don't appologize or ask if there is anything they can do to make things more comfortable. All they do is give you attitude for even asking.
Then there is parking...or lack there of. There are designated visitor spots. Each appartment is issued one parking permit. All others that live there must use one of the few visitor spots. This doesn't bother me because I only have one car, but what about my visitors when they come and all the spots are used up by residents with mulitple cars. If you don't have a parking sticker and are not in a visitor spot you will be towed to a lot almost 45 minutes away that does not have weekend hours but will charge you for them having your car there over the weekend! I have, on more then one occation, had a visitor come, not be able to find a spot and have to leave and drive an hour back home!!! That is just out of control!!! And once again, the rude, snarel faced, incompitant delinquents at the rental office only care about getting your money and making sure you don't have anything but approvel patio furniture on your balcony.
Potential residents should deffinately be warned about the months when the AC is turned off and on so that they can make a propper decission about renting concerning the health of their family, babies, and pets!
I think the reason the people in the rental office are so mean is because they know that the residents aren't being treated unfair and they realize they have a lousy job keeping that way.

If you had all of these problems, why did you stay for almost 5 yrs. If you are that unhappy you could have moved out a long time a go. Get over.

I have lived here for 3 years now and we have never had a problem with our AC. As a matter of fact I ran my ac well into Oct. with no problem. When we had a leak and the problem wasn't getting fixed the manager HERSELF came down and looked at what the damage was and offered her apologies and when I returned home (the same day) everything was taken care. I love Deerfield, the only problem is the critters but that's nature. If you have lived here for 5 years and haven't moved then it can't be that bad...
