Beyond Sorry Service, Part II

I'm not a renter at Foxfire, but I recently put in an application. The service I received was by far the worst I've experienced. I was first told that I could drop my application off on a Sunday since office would be open. Well after driving to the leasing office no one was available to help me, in fact the office was closed for renovations. I looked passed this incident and ended up dropping my rental application off after hours. I called to follow up on everything and was given the progress. We discussed my preferences and the availability. I explained that I preferred the 2nd or 3rd floor. The leasing agent stated that she knew that there was something available on the 1st floor but she would get back with me on my approval and to let me know if there was something on a different floor. After a couple of days, I received no response, so I called the leasing office and no one could find any of my paperwork. The young lady took my number and said she would give me a call back. Well she called back and explained that I was approved, the lease had been prepared and I was scheduled to move in that day on the 1st floor. I was truly disappointed, I had no clue that I was approved, nor did I know that I would be moving so quickly into something that I did not want. I thought I was clear on my preference and I expected a call back from the leasing agent so that everything else could be finalized, that is, if I was approved. This wasn't the end, the agent called me back that Monday, claiming that I should have known that I was approved because she told me the progress the week before and she stated that she told me that the 1st floor was the only thing available. Maybe we were having two completely different conversations, but obviously there were a few communication gaps. At the time Foxfire was running a rental special and refused to make an exception despite a clear miscommunication. I was told that I would have to put in another application and pay another application fee. The apartment community looks beautiful, but you should never judge a book by its cover!
