Marymont Apartments
< | >
I moved into Marymont Apartments back in July because at that time it had an 83% rating and seemed to be the best apartment complex in this area - boy was I wrong!
The staff is HORRIBLE! They are NEVER there during posted office hours. I always see the Hispanic gentlemen leaving early or just leaving for 2 hour breaks in the middle of the day which makes having to get packages a regular pain in the ***.
Maintenance is horrible - they came in without any notice to "inspect" the apartment for repairs. My apartment was fine before they came and after they left my toilet has been running constantly and they haven't been out to fix it. I think it's a scam to make more money on the water bill.
The people who live here are VERY shady. I only go outside on my way to and from work because I do not feel safe in this area with all the break-ins, the thugs and the -------- loitering on the corners. (not to mention the dozen stray cats that seem to make homes on everyone's porches).
The only positive thing I have to say is that parking has never been a problem for me. I've always been able to get a spot directly in front of my apartment.
The apartment itself is very nice with the stucco-like walls and the fireplace but could stand to use some improvements. The cardboard cabinets that are peeling apart are nasty and the outdated kitchen wallpaper and appliances need to go.
I would break my lease to get out of this craphole but they want a month and a half's rent and 60 days notice (no refund either) so looks like I have to tough it out.
For the amount of money this place costs you could get a really nice place in Columbia with a safer population.
DON'T RENT HERE!

How rude to write people are lazy when you don't know where their apartment is. I walk to the mail room and I will write after living here for three years I can't find a parking space in front of my apartment unless it is my day off or I come home early. Where you live it may not be a problem but where I live there are five vehicles that never move and they are parked in front of the apartment building. Two have flat tires and one has expired tags. It seems everyone has had a different experience and their experiences should not be short-changed because your opinion can easily be dismissed, kali8972. I will admit Marymont is not like it was when I first moved in and I will not be renewing my lease. |
