Simply put, Marymont is a decent place to live. I have live in older refurbished apartments with 2006 appliances and it was nice, but thats not always a factor that will make you want to stay in an apartment. Although the appliances at Marymont are old, I find more of a problem with honoring perks that are offered by the community. There is a two day (business day) maintenance policy in which if you report an issue and it is not handled they will credit your account each business day the problem has not been fixed. It just so happens that I paid close attention to that, documented when I submitted a request, documented the updates I received, and documented when the service was complete. Sure enough it was not within the time they promised, so I took written notice to the leasing office and told them I was not paying the rent for the days they did not complete my service. Ever since then WANDA has treated me as if I was the biggest ----- on the planet. Everytime I go in there she has some excuse or another for why something cannot be handled (e.g. "we are dealing with evictions...." "tara is not here...." blah blah blah). One other example is upon moving I asked for a summary of my apartment size recurring bills so I would know what to expect. I wrote all the information down as I always do, and was surprised when I had to confront the office about the differece. Again WANDA got all hot and red in the face and told me "I never said that..." So I would say, as long as you are not expecting the apartments over there off Cherry Lane (the brand new ones) then they are decent to live in...after all it is what you make of it. Parking is somewhat of a problem and agree maybe there should be reserved for the residents. HOWEVER, the biggest problem is WANDA. The assistant property manager who never wants to step up and handle things in the community...which is her job.

Employees of negligable worth such as Wanda I. Pica are the disease that plaque what could otherwise be considered decent communities such as Marymont. It is truly sad and amazing how many residents know Wanda by name and can gladly convey the same anecdotes filled with Wanda's evasiveness, constantly changing stories (what higher class, decent people would call outright lies), and general incompetance and inability/unwillingness to do the job she is paid for on even the most fundamental level.

It is amazing as I am reading these reviews and everyone seems to complain about managment and a particular person what are you bringing to the table and how can someone complain about an individual who is doing his or her job. If one is unhappy with a job, house, apt, school etc then make a difference and stop being such a complainer. Move out if you are unhappy. You made the choice to live there no one made you do it!!!!! BUY YOUR OWN PLACE AND NEVER RENT THEN THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN TO YOU AGAIN. ALSO IF YOU WERE SO RIGHT IN YOUR JOB THEN YOU WOULDN'T LEAVE IN A PLACE LIKE MARYMONT IF IT IS SO BAD!

@ anonymous, how do you move out with a 1 year lease? Plain and simple, customer service is an important factor. Complaining is making a difference. I don't live here but I am considering it and it looks like many individuals have a problem with management os it's not like this person was lying. Minor things like management relations and parking availibility help undecided potential renters finalize their decision and are therefore MAJOR factors. Thanks posters!
