I chose to live in the bottom floor because it had the W&D in it. What a mistake. The front door is right to the patio between the buildings. My apt was every insects home. I had bugs in there i never seen, like those nasty spider-crickets. Also the mail slot is in the door, so anyone can open it and look inside. luckily i did not have a lot of furniture and i kept it that way.
Then there was an area on the carpet that got wet everytime it rained, after a few months of complaining they fixed the roof. Also because of the ground floor it is contantly humid and there is a moldy smell that my clothes had all the time.
During my second winter there, my electric billed quadrupuled, I'm not kidding. The first winter i paid around $35 - $45, and the BGE was now coming at 110 - 140. BGE said the meter was fine and it was their fault, they told me it was not. I was stuck in between. The stroy is too long to write here, suffice to say, I'm still waiting for my money after 7 months.
Since i was in the bottom floor, they broke into my apt through the window. This was the last straw and I moved out the next month. They did not fix the window. I went a month with a taped up window. The officer that came to write the report said it happens a lot to ground floors and that he has told them about things they can do to make it safer but they ingore it.
I was month to month for 3 months after my lease expired. When i told them i was moving they said i owed them an extra 100 for each month. I told them no one ever advised me after my lease expired that i had to pay extra. They said i should have received a letter. I said if thats the case why did anyone say anything after the second month when i paid the rent. Shouldn't someone have noticed. I had to call the main office in baltimore and complaing. I told them that it would not hold up in court since it was not on my lease. I got that one fixed. Everything is a hassle.
I agree with the last reviewer about the kids and the parking situation.
I have moved almost every year since 1992, the longest i have lasted in a place is 2 years. So I have lived in about 11 places during the last 14 years and this was by far the worst place. This includes other states.
