Please please please do not move in here if you value your sanity. First of all, I moved into this apt in May 08 and can not wait to be OUT! Not only is the noise ridiculous, there are countless break-ins, even a rape--all have occurred within the 11 months I've been here. Not to mention, the fact that ALL of the things I listed on the move-in sheet were never fixed! And then there is the "lost" rent checks--who does that' Exactly how does one "loose" a rent check'! Then, they put a notice on my door saying they had begun "legal" proceedings' Because they lost my rent check that I have a carbon copy of AND confirmation that I dropped it off''

With the check, contact your bank and find it if it was deposited or not. If not then do a stop payment and re-issue another one to them. You shouldnt pay a late fee, not if someone in the office confirmed that it was dropped off. A carbon copy of your check will not work. I can write out checks all day long and then tear them up. Give specifics. Tell them what day you dropped it off, and who you dropped it off to.
