Good Overall, but Things to Watch For

I've lived at Riverview for about 18 months now. It's safe, affordable, and clean, and they haven't raised the rent on me in the 6 months since my initial lease ended (it goes month-to-month after your first year.) I've never been aware of trouble, or anyone being robbed or attacked. I think I've seen the police in the parking lot all of twice since I moved in. The garbage is picked up regularly and I've never come home to find an evicted person?s belongings sitting on the street.
Overall, I'd give it a solid rating, especially since Main Street is an attractive area and convenient to a lot of things. There are some things to watch for if you consider Riverview, however:
1) It's fairly spartan. There are no frills; no gym, no pool, no security gate, and washer/dryers are in the basement, not in the units.
2) The wiring in my apartment is quite old. Make sure there's a working phone line when you move in, and a cable outlet in the living room.
3) Inquire about the history of the unit. There had been a fire in mine, which no one told me.
4) Get a top-level unit if you can. If you're on the 1st or 2nd floor and the person above you is at all noisy, you're gonna hear it.
