It was a great deal for the money

I lived at Steward Towers from February 1992 to December 1998. I lived in apartment 1002, a huge two-bedroom unit on the northeast corner.

I absolutely loved the apartment because of the immense storage space, hardwood floors, and the view from both sides of the building.

When I lived there, the rent was $600 with all bills paid-- a steal.

My job took me away about 1/3 of the year, so I didn't have much interaction with residents. No ghetto action on my floor, but then it's been awhile since I was there.

I always felt secure because the doors were solid steel and I had a dog who could hear through concrete.

The management was always friendly, always forgiving if I paid my rent late. We managed always to stay on good terms. They gave me great references when I left.

I appreciated the trash chute in the hall and the fast elevators. Also, I painted the walls and decorated to my taste-- no one batted an eye.

I always said that if that unit had been for sale I would have bought it. No question!
