Do NOT Live Here

Oh let me count the reasons why living here is a bad idea....My apartment was in poor condition upon moving in. To get anything fixed you have to call a 1 800 number and supposedly your work order will be addressed on the next business day. This has never been the case since they lose the work order at the front office. It should be noted I have told 3 people who work at the front office of this issue and it has not been addressed.

I was asked to not leave my apartment all day on a Sunday b/c they were re-tiling the floor that morning (have to love hammering outside your door at 8am on Sunday). One night I came home from work to find a letter telling me that I had to clear out all cabinets at floor level and clear all counters by the next morning or be fined 100 bucks!!! This is not a joke, the letter actually threatened that in all caps and bold letters. This is because they were spraying for bugs. Another catch to this, the letter was left at my door the day before they were spraying, but it was dated 2 days before....

Finally, I'm now told that my apartment door will be painted one day next week. This apparently involves removing my door to paint it and then keeping my apartment door open while the door dries. They promise to promptly close the door as soon as it's done drying. So now I'm supposed to allow them to leave my apartment unlocked and wide open so anyone could walk in, for an undetermined amount of time...or take a day off from work to literally watch my stuff....this is kind of sad, I always thought this is what door locks were made for.

To clarify I have no problem with maintenance entering my apartment or doing work. But if I am needed to do anything to prepare for them (and if I don't comply I'll be randomly fined at their discretion) then I'd like more than a day's notice (I work late nights some times). I also don't have a problem with my door being painted, but I do have a problem with my apartment being left unlocked and wide open for an undetermined amount of time.

They also turned the air conditioning off, without notice. When I called to complain it was broken, I received a call back saying they had turned it off for the year. Since it was over 80 degrees outside, my apartment had as well reached 80 degrees. So I opened my windows, only to find holes in the screens and about 15 to 20 bugs in between each screen and the window (2 windows in the apartment). Unfortunately it was night time and I didn't notice the bugs immediately, giving a bunch of them plenty of time to make their way into my apartment.

PS: If you decide to move here, Saturday office hours are advertised till 6, but the office usually closes around 1, if it opens at all.....so hopefully you don't work late during the week, or good luck getting any packages. No recycling for the eco friendly folks.

Dear concerned resident I must say that I am shocked to here your negative feed back. We have only recieved good responses from our residents that they are so happy with the improvements. It can be an inconvenience at times while major improvements are being made. But we make every effort to inform you well in advance. As far as your move in I did pull your move in inspection sheet I did not find any concerns regarding any problems at move in. I would love to speak with you so that I can address all your concerns. Please contact me at the Steward Tower office. Respectfully, Darlene Cherry, Sr. Property Manager

If the person is anonymous how in the world can you pull their move in inspection sheet? I would also be incredibly annoyed to not get at least 2 days warning and to be told my door would be left open for an undetermined period of time with no guarantee of someone watching my apartment/things. I'm glad this person wrote this review because there is no way I would move some where that doesn't give proper notice, turns the AC off for a year without warning, and whose property manager seems to be lying here.
