My family moved out of VSN on October 31, 2004. We were happy to finally make that move. After that posting in June 17th, 2004, everything went wrong.

First June's rent was stolen from the drop box of the rental office. The office were cooperative in the beginning, but nothing came of it. We had to strong arm the main office to refund our security deposit after we moved out and they did refund it, but we still have to go through the money order companies to get our $ 989 back from the person who was accused of this fraud. Then to turn right around and pay the $ 989.00 that we were sued for. That really hurts after all that, they should have concessioned the amount that they were out and we should have been able to keep our money for the HUGE issues it caused. All they could do was take the drop box off the wall of the rental office, what a way to handle a situation. The culprit's name is William Burks and he wrote over Kay Management in the Pay to the order of field and put in his name and took it to a SunTrust Bank in Beltsville, MD to cash our money. He must have had a hook up at the bank, because if you could see the copies of the way he altered our money. There is no way that that bank teller could not see that was a fraud case. Needless to say, we already paid back half to Kay Management and we are waiting on the last money order to be refunded and we will be clear totally of VILLAGE SQUARE NORTH.

Secondly, a homicide happened a building away from 9037 where we were residing. Then the fact that the females' apartment that it happened in, had nothing to say about it except be very irate and hollering and screaming, etc. Which all that was for show because it sure did cause a scene, let alone the gun smoke. Then the people were never caught, they rode up on a motorcycle and did the shooting. It happened on a Monday in August 17th, 2004 and it was about 10:30p.m. The night before at about 3am, there were obviously warning shots for the person or persons. I guess they came back for the second day to actually do the job. It was very scary and we had to walk past that everyday in order to get to our car or get into the apartment. Our son just turning two at the time, would stop by that building everyday and count on the ground the bullet casings that the police had outlined in spray paint. What a way to learn huh' All the could do was put a letter in the building stating to cooperate with Police investigators, etc. The girls never did return to the apartment and they had just moved in about three weeks prior to the drama.

Maintenance was still great. The domestic disputes were ridiculous. The at random gun shots were crazy. At least once a month. Needless to say, we decided to make our last day be the date that our lease ended. We left in good standing, but we had to move on. The apartment was nice, I still miss my dishwasher, but the complex started to take a nose dive June 7th, 2004, starting with our rent being stolen.
