I think that village square north has really changed the image that once was viewed as. I moved into a two bedroom apt. about 8 months ago. I can honestly say that I have had no serious problems at the apt. The only issue I had was the person living under me playing loud music late at night, but the management staff reconciled the situation immediately.
My builing in really quite now, very relaxing, cozy apartment. I have a baby too, so it really helps that it is so quiet day or not. Maybe I just got lucky in my building, but everyone is friendly, kind, respectful, and cleanly. Maintenance is fair with fixing problems, parking is good, but it is becoming an issue at times.
People do hang outside sometimes, but it hasn't been an issue for me. You can't really not expect people to hang outside in this area, because it's what the younger urban generation likes to do in the summer.
Overall I would say this is a decent place to live. It's a decent place to live while you save to purchase a house, townhome, or condo...because the rent isn't too high and it includes all utilities except water....which is every quarter.
