It's not that bad living at Westgate of Laurel. My neighbors are always friendly. I didn't experience or know of many car thefts. There was the occasional teenage loitering but it's really not that bad. The area is decent.
The apartments are OLD. They have been renovating most. Washer & Dryer is good if you are single. I have a family and I am waiting for a house. The washer & dryer is too small to keep the clothes clean. Roaches, ants, and crickets! I periodically had to call the rental office to have the exterminator come out. No matter how clean you think you are keeping the house pests are always present and they come in various seasons.
The response from management in the rental office was always effective and friendly, to me and my husband. So if you don't mind living with bugs, a small washer & dryer, growing mold in the shower stalls [in which I continuously have to spray this area down with bleach] than you can live at Westgate of Laurel.
I am personally turned off by the numerous amounts of bugs that are present here and I cannot wait until the lease is up so I can move out! I grew up in ghetto areas so my expectations aren't that high at apartments but I cannot stand BUGS!
Also I think they charge way too much rent for those old apartments. Kitchen cabinet space is very little, the renovations not all that nice either. You don't have to pay for water & gas but you sure are paying for it in the rent you have to pay. Oh yeah, parking is extremely bad. Get off work early so you can have a parking space near your building. Otherwise you will have to park near the pool or around the corner.
