Good if you're not picky

Ever since my fiance and I moved in, we've had nothing but problems. The apartment looked great when we first got there and started moving our stuff in. We were enticed by the water and cooking gas being paid for us (but we still had to pay tax on the gas which could be about 15 to 20 dollars a month).
We first had plumbing issues in which the whole building was backed up, and the water from the laundry room flowed out into the carpeted hallway and under our front door into the foyer. This happended again about a month later and maintanance was in my house until almost midnight working in my full bathroom.
Then we had a mice infestation, probably because we lived on the bottom floor (a basement basically) where the trash room was. Luckily my cat was able to catch a few of them. A girl at the front office when I called her about it talked to me like "what do you want us to do about it'" and sent someone to put traps down and close the holes under our sinks (another issue, the sinks had gaping holes underneath and the pipes are exposed).
Our "basement" apartment is surrounded by the ground. Our bedroom window is ground level and then slopes downward so that we have a patio. It's soooo cold in the winter. Our gas bill was over $100 easy with our thermostat set at 70....and that's not warm at all. We had three space heaters in the house to take along with us to each room we were in. Not to mention, our gas did not work when we first started running it in the winter. Mainenance had to come fix that too.
We had a ceiling leak from some busted pipes. We woke up in the morning to a soaked carpet in the hallway. They came and fixed the leaks, and replaced the carpet, but we still hear water dripping and hitting the ceiling when our upstairs neighbor showers.
Our air conditioning unit started leaking and soaked the carpet in the living room and warped the hard wood floors underneath. We had to get the carpet replaced there too.
The dishwasher leaks almost everyday and I called mainanance three times to fix it. Each time they didn't see anything wrong with it.
The neighbor across the hall had a fire in their apartment while they weren't home. I called the fire department since it seemed that none of my neighbors were concerned about the smoke in the hallway. The maintanance staff did not want the fire department to break the lock so he ran to get a key. The fire department went in anyway and extinguished the fire.
There was a water main break down the block from us and our water was brown on and off for about a week.
We have bugs and spiders EVERYWHERE. My cat's on a monthly flea medication that worked really well when she was an part time outside cat. Now she's an inside cat and still scratches because ticks come from the outside. We find live and dead ones all over the house.
Bottom line, they told us the apartment was inspected before we moved in. This was obviously not true. I don't think that anyone has been in there for a long time.
I also concur with the prior commenter on the snow and the laundry room. Padonia is a good place to live if you're not picky about where you live. gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7

Most of the things in these complaints are normal occurances when you rent an apartment. There is no way to control when leaks occur. If you have an outside cat you will have fleas. I have lived at Padonia for 2 yr and have 2 cats. Not once have I have a flea or mouse problem of course I don't live in an area with trees. I am on the first floor and appredicate not have to go outside with the trash. If you accept the trash room in the building you have to accept the occassional smell however I am really please that they remove the trash every other day. I LOVE MY APARTMENT

This person is obviously a friend of the apt complex. These things ARE NOT/DON'T HAVE TO BE normal occurances. That's as silly as saying because eat you ARE going to be overweight. The last 3 comments, this one up to Oct 1 are VERY accurate.
