I have lived in Mays Chapel for 18 months. I have a basement apartment. These apartments are old, but nice. Biggest complaints I have - insects, mostly caterpillars, sometimes centipedes and crickets, and definitley spiders. I keep a vacuum handy just to kill them. Spraying helps, except for the spiders. Also biggest complaint is - why have windows and doors at all because the apartments are so drafty. Just about evey tennant has plastic at their wibndows! And yet, the apartment still gets cold. The plastic balloons out and gets sucked in. Also, most front doors need desperately to be re-painted. Some of the laundry rooms are a little dirty. The office staff are nice, older ladies, but don't push it. My storage are in my building is filthy, so I don't use use it at all. But, mostly I like it here. I stay on top of the bugs, use space heaters (cheaper than the alternative), and keep my place clean. Hardwood floors are nice as you don't have to worry about a carpet and how old it is. I am moving to a second floor apartment in a few weeks. Hopefully this will reduce the bug problem. Neighbors are nice and friendly. Bottom line, I do like it here. I just wish there were a few less bugs and better insulated windows/doors.
ALSO! We had a prowler a few weeks back. He tried to get in one of my wondows, which was locked. This can happen anywhere. I never had this happen to me before. So just a warning, be cautious wherever you live. ALSO, lots of deer around. :-) x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk
