Noise is a big issue; people can be heard at all hours-neighbors/their visitors honk car horns to get people's attention, cigarette/cigar smoke from nearby residences drift inside. The biggest issue has been safety; a high school is nearby and there are teenagers loitering/suspicious activity when fewer residents are on site; since we moved here less than 1 year ago there has been at least one break-in and a child's bicycle stolen from the property. The apartments are much less desirable than new construction nearby and equally expensive.

Our experience with respect to the noise and cigarette smoke was similar to yours. We didn't have any theft issues, but our experience was about two years ago. We didn't notice many teenagers around, but it was disconcerting to have children in the parking lot playing with broken gravel.

I haven't had any of these issues. I remember what you are saying about the bike, someone ATTEMPTED to steal it, but were caught and the bike wasn't taken, there were flyers out about it the very next day. Construction has not been an issue at all. The apartments are well worth the money spent on them. As for honking and noise, you don't rate an apartment on the random individuals who might pass through, you rate it on the quality of service. It sounds like you had a bad experience with neighbors, not with the complex. Also, out of the 30 people I work with at least half of them have had their cars broken into, a lot of them more than once. I happily consider one ATTEMPTED bike theft in a year to be extremely safe. And those loitering children? They live there. They are allowed to loiter.
