Not Really

I'm amazed at all the good reviews for this place. They must not live in the same place we lived at and recently visited. While it may be better than, say, the Equity Apartment buildings down the street, this place had real issues.
First, the good stuff: the staff was great. I had no complaints there in terms of attitude or cooperation. Maintenance folks were response etc. We kept an average clean house, and the maintenance people would always tell us how amazed they were at our places considering how others looked in the complex. Keep that in mind, as you'll be moving into those beat-up pet-pooed apartments.
Problems:
- Smoke from the neighbor's aparment seeps through the walls making it smell like smoke all the time in your place.
- Teenagers in the parking lot at all hours, both residents and nearby kids generally causing trouble
- Drug deals and graffiti at the mailbox
- Only the townhomes visible from the street got the recent renovation, along with that new shiny sign (tells you something about priorities)
- Lots of break-ins to cars in the lots
- Various damage to cars from skateboards and otherwise idle teenagers in the parking lot (there's no place for them to go around there)
- Mysterous black soot (some people think it was all the overflight from the airport approach path this place is directly under) coats any smooth surface in the house. You breath in what isn't on the walls.
- The tiny heat pump was the worst heating/ac unit I ever used. Cold in winter, hot in summer.
- Parking was always a real chore if you have two cars unless you purchase two spots. There aren't any overflow spots unless you want to park down on the street near the drug deal mailboxes
- You hear everything that happens in the parking lot. This was good to alert you to security issues, but didn't help when you always hear the brakes on trucks on the nearby highway at all hours, or horns, or people screaming across the street.
- Pet mess: the tiny yards looked like litterboxes
- Dumpsters were always overflowing
- Quality of other residents. Many issues with loud neighbors, late partiers, the drunk woman banging on our back door etc. Had to actually call the police once. The complex never really attracted quality residents.
We broke our lease to move away from there (Berkshire was running it at the time). Not bad for Millersville/Glen Burnie, but that's not really saying much.

You wrote a review from when you lived there 8-11 years ago? The rent (now around $1300 mo) alone is enough to keep the "less desirables" out. I have never seen what you describe nor have I had any experiences similar to what you posted. Berkshires, by far, is the best rental community in the Millersville/Glen Burnie area.

I lived in the middle section, facing the row that had the leasing office. Crucible court was the address.
The drugs and many other issues were with the complex and local are itself, regardless of what townhouse you lived in. I didn't even realize it was happening until my wife *and* the woman at the leasing office both told me about it. I didn't believe my wife at first until the leasing office woman told us they were trying to quietly get rid of the problem.
The dumpster was at the u-turn up at the top, so I assume it was shared by the whole complex. Issues such as teens and the drunk woman, of course, depend on who happens to be around when you live there

I live in the same complex and have only had one problem out of the list you made (smoke smell). I think your experience depends on what street you live on.

I enjoy living here and agree, the management, staff and maintenance people are awesome. Our house is pretty nice but the bathroom and dryer could use an update. Our neighbors are also pretty decent but there is the odd white trash resident-luckily most of them are on the other side of the complex! Overall, I think this IS the best rental property in this area.
However, I have to agree with one aspect of this post-the gangs of teenagers that hang around REALLY annoy me-as do the kids who constantly play in traffic. The parking lot is a football/baseball/skateboarding park. If you have a nice car, you won't want to park it here-unless you like softball dents!Every evening I run the gauntlet and pray I won't hit one of the kids who are standing in the middle of the road. It is only a matter of time until a child gets knocked down as the parents here don't seem to have trained their children to get off the road when a car is coming.
