I lived at Gables Rothbury from October 2005 until December 2008 and it was a wonderful place to live. I moved in without ever visiting the complex and was very happy with my decision. The apartments are large and modern, and you can never go wrong with brand new. The black appliances and open floor plan is what really drew me in. I never really used the amenities, but they were nice and always very well maintained and clean. There were a lot of resident activities this past year which I appreciated. Even just simple things like opening the clubhouse after hours to residents to watch debates and football games on the big screen. As a pet owner, I also appreciated the dog stations with bags on the property and how much the staff cared about the pets. It was nice to have a shopping center right next door also since I made a lot of late night runs to the Giant or CVS for this or that. It was a nice neighborhood and the people that lived there were nice. I rarely saw my neighbors, but that wasn't a bad thing. It was super quiet around the community. The apartments were really sound proof. Most of all I really enjoyed the staff. They always did everything they could with what they had to please residents and make them enjoy where the lived. I always had a sense that they genuinely cared about the wellbeing of the tenants. I got along great with all of them and appreciated all that they did. Being from another state and knowing no one in the area, their attitudes and efforts made it feel homy for me since people in D.C. are so heartless. Overall, I thought it was a great place to live. I never hesitated to renew my lease each year and from what I saw driving through the area, it was the best looking place to live. It was so well taken care of, it was almost unreal. The grass always green and mowed, the flowers full and bright, the parking lot clean, etc. I would recommend this place to anyone.
