Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I'm a single mom and I lived in Kaywood for a year. I felt relatively safe, but I think that may have just been my building. Luckily, my neighbors were quiet and respectful and we worked well together in our building (even down to the laundry room use).
I thought the actual apartment was lovely. Classic layout with a good amount of space and parquet floors. I had the medium-sized one bedroom and I used the dining area as my daughter's room (absolutely perfect for a two-year-old).
The leasing office did employ people with attitudes, but I ignored it and moved on. The maintenance service was always prompt and I never had a pest control problem because as soon as I would spot something, I called the office and they scheduled the exterminators to come.
Overall I enjoyed the neighborhood. There is a really nice playground not too far from the complex, a community center with classes for kids, and I found an excellent home daycare about three blocks from me (I lived on Kaywood Drive).
I've since relocated to another city, but I would have stayed there until I was ready to purchase a home.
