We love our apartment. We live in the suites and they really are "sweet". The garage parking under the building is nice as well as having a fitness center and mailboxes in our building. The kitchens and bathrooms are great here and worth the higher rent. The building is quiet and clean for the most part. Sometimes the trash room gets bad, but I must say that it is nice having a trash room right down the hall instead of carrying your trash to a dumpster. Let me stress again, that having a trash room down the hall is a great amenity that most apartments don't have. The maintenance team is friendly but not always lightning fast. We personally have not had any problems in 2 years with things falling apart, leaking, not working, or malfunctioning, but we have heard stories from others about leaking. The location is perfect for us, and we have enjoyed the area so much. You get used to the metro after a few weeks and the noise doesn't bother us at all anymore. We actually like hearing the metro going by...kind of like hearing ocean waves....maybe not.
Here are the negatives. The management team was great when we moved in, but it has declined alot in my opinion in the past 2 years. Trying to get answers to your questions about re-leasing is not easy when the manager, Isaac, does not even know the answers. He is not the most friendly person and has been rude to me. Tammy is nice and easy to deal with. There are some others who are nice, but overall I give the whole staff a C-. The doors to the suites buildings (all of them) seem to have problems from time to time and it is very annoying. Overall, the quality of people living here over the past two years has declined. We pretty much stay in our apartment (since it is so nice) so we don't have to interact much with others anyways.
Memos are put up pretty often and it gets annoying...maybe that's just me. Also, the elevators are not always both operating...though I must say it is nice having elevators.
Overall, if you are looking for a luxurious apartment with all the amenities, this is the place. It is not perfect, but there are no perfect apartment complexes. This place is decent for a year or two. Give it a try.
