Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
These apartnements are 1600 for a 1 bedroom. 2000 for a 1 bedroom with black cabinets. I have lived for 5 years previously in a 2 bedroom apt and never had any trouble with the landlord or the accountants.
This place sent me to court after 3 months for being 1 day late on rent. I walked home and found a summons taped to my mailbox and door. I was in shock- did somebody die' No, they auto-generated a court summons(so they said). I asked them, why can't I just pay a late fee. They didn't know. Super.
1 day- but wait- there's more. They sent me to court for somebody else's rent. Rent that was 2/3 more than my own. The case was thrown out because a) I paid my rent b) they never answer their own phone- even from their own lawyers c) they sent me to court for some mythical apartment fee.
Here's another really cool thing. You pay for your own parking space. OK, that's fair in a big first strike zone city- no problem. But here's the kicker. There is no parking. So you get to park in the only spots within a 2 mile radius at Avalon. But wait there's more, they tow you out of your own parking lot! And, people from the ghetto without a parking tag are sitting in your space while you pay $120 per day to get your car out of hock.
How cool is that! All with Avalon, private property and all, not taking the blame for any of this sh|t. I knew living in a large city would be hard, so I moved to the nicest place I could find near the metro.
Oh, and don't forget the train that passes 20 feet from your apartment every 10 minutes. It's a bang baby.
Let me set the record straight about this hole. I WOULD RATHER BE HOMELESS THAN LIVE HERE. At least I would get to keep my 2K a month and buy a house or maybe rent from people with a clue. What a pile of crap. Good luck to you all, and my fellow renters- my condolences.
