I've lived at Strathmore Court at White Flint for going on 3 months now. This is how an apartment complex should be operated.

I previously lived at Woodvale, in Silver Spring (formerly Castlegate, formerly Country Club). That place, while unremarkable, was not awful... that is until the Donaldson Group took over management and cut such things as package delivery, extermination services, the community pool for 1-2 years for "renovations"... etc, while increasing rent. Needless to say, they left me jaded and I began looking for somewhere else to move.

The move-in process was absolutely wonderful here. I ran into some delays during the move-out of my old place, and after a quick phone call, the management office here arranged to have the loading dock opened for me whenever I got here. This was a great way to start being a resident here. Every time I need to go to the leasing office for something, I'm welcomed rather than treated as a burden.

I have the largest 1 bedroom floorplan, overlooking the courtyard and pool. It's $1,635 a month, but given the ample garage parking, proximity to the metro, great amenities (nice fitness center, sauna, great pool), it is worth it to me.

So far, I have yet to see any insects in my unit, my neighbors are exceedingly quiet (I'm a single guy living between 2 families - I'm the one worried about being the loud one), the maintenance has been here the same day to work on things - even when I told them it was not a priority.

The only beef I have with the place is that my carpet was cleaned (not replaced) when I moved in, and it had a little more wear than I would have liked, but it is very clean. This is hardly a deal breaker, however, Also, during my FIoS install, it was found that maintenance had painted over the fiber drop, and Verizon had to come pull a new one. Again - minor issue there as well.

In this area, I don't think you'll find more value for your money with the amenities and service this place offers.
