Perfect location

Strathmore Court combines several excellent qualities in an attractive package sure to offer something for everyone. I have been living here since September 2008, and intend to move up from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom this summer for another year at least.
The building location is incredible for those who prefer more suburban locations, yet require immediate access to public transportation (one block to the White Flint Metro station), and the highway system (short hop to the 270 and 495). There is a grocery store within two blocks, and just about any kind of store you could imagine within a mile (including White Flint Mall).
The building itself reasonably attractive with care taken to keep the communal areas neat and usable. These include the foyer, hallways, party room, gym, swimming pool, and garage area. All floors have easy access to garbage chutes and recycling bins as well, which are regularly emptied. Complementary underground parking completes the picture and is a considerable luxury relative to the other apartment buildings in the area (particularly those right next to metro stops).
The 1 bedroom I currently occupy is quite large for the area and comfortably sized. The living room is easily large enough for a full-sized dining table, with plenty of room for a living room setup. The bathroom includes a stacked washer/dryer combo, and the master bedroom adjoins a wonderful (and huge) walk-in closet. The only jarring note is the kitchen. Kitchens are generally disappointing in apartments, but this kitchen seems to make the least of its actual size, with several cabinets having been laid out to be mostly useless (very deep and inaccessible). The gas-range is highly welcome however, and the disposal unit in the sink comes in handy.
The building staff are very friendly and do their best to address any concerns as fast as possible. Repair requests are generally handled as quickly as possible. I have had only minor problems, but they have all been taken care of either that day or the next day.
The only reason to hesitate on Strathmore is the price-tag. You certainly could get more space for less money, but this requires a significant compromise either in location (it doesn't get better), quality/size, or service. Quick access to the metro is critical to me, and given the alternatives, I feel Strathmore Court is perfect for me.
