This is my first year in Maryland so I can t say what is normal as far as crime and pricing. I am in the military and had about four days to pick an apartment. This apartment is close to the post and was one of the nicest around. I soon came to found out it is very over priced. I would strongly recommend looking around. I am located on the first floor and every time someone flushes the toilet or takes a shower it sounds like a waterfall in my guest room, I am constantly worried someone is going to break in because we had several break-ins over the summer. They did raise the security but the fence seems to be put in backwards. The office has not been overly inviting. I have also had some maintenance problems that I have put in several requests to be fixed. It has been over a month and still has not been fixed. I just seem like this is a lot of money for the service and the area. The community is to themselves and very quiet. I do not have a dog but I have a lot of dead grass around my apartment. The walls between our neighbors are very thin as well. Also, when you move in don't sign the information for the adequacy of the apartment for at least 24 hrs because they try to make you do that before you move your stuff in. I have heard a lot worse about the surrounding areas but just take the time to look around.
