Shelter Cove is by far one of the nicest places to live in Odenton. Under new management, the staff is very friendly and outgoing. The amenities are superb including an inground pool, sauna, gym, party room and much more! The neighborhood is very peaceful and welcoming. I have lived here two years and have seen a drastic change for the better. The grounds are well maintained. I have not had any problems with bugs, mold or maintenance issues. The property is no longer accepting section 8 and has increased the income qualifications. There are also beautiful play grounds for the kids. Assigned parking is also very convenient. I love living at Shelter Cove Apts!!

Gosh, this review sounds alot like the last one posted a few days ago. It almost sounds like a commercial. If you are a prospective tenant, don't believe these reviews. It seems as if it is an attempt to raise the review ratings. I moved out not too long ago and it was a happy day! I had the same issues that all the other reviewers had. Roaches, maintenance issues that stayed unresolved after calling repeatedly, and office staff that was constantly changing and was incompetent were some of the issues we had with the property. An example: three weeks after we moved in (after paying over $1800.00 for first months rent and pet deposits) we got a visit from the sheriff with an eviction notice because the office staff did not post our payment even though the check cleared the bank a few days after we moved in. The playground was sub par. The only positives I have were the assigned parking and the well-maintained grounds.

I agree!! I think there is somebody in the RENTAL OFFICE writing these wonderful reviews of the apartments. Its nice that they no longer accept section 8 but how would anyone know that except the superior outgoing office staff? Not too long ago I called the office because there was a huge patch of ice on the front steps and the girl who answered put me on hold to find out if it was her problem and then sounded ticked off when she returned and stated "I'll send someone by if I see them", no one came by. I do not agree with the assigned parking. One space is not enough when most families have two vehicles and what do you do when someone is in your space? The office doesn't call the towing company, I know I've tried.

This sounds like one of the workers was told to write this bogus crap by one of the owners... i live in shelter cove and last night in the laundry room and in my kitchen i saw and killed roaches and if living with roaches is the way to live ...then come to shelter cove. My lease is up in 3 months and i am moving to columbia, md where the rental properties are much better than the stank area of anne arundel county.

Haha, Yeah I agree with all the other responses! I am a current resident and can't wait to leave. The first management company we dealt with were awesome! The new management in charge are incompetent, irresponsible and very rude! My question is how would a resident know whether the income qualifications have increased. Must know someone in the "inside" or maybe even work there! LOL--

The comments that address how bad this complex is are all so true. I visit this site from time to time to review comments made by renters. Unfortunatley what amazes me as there are still individual that move into this rat, roach infested complex. Either it is due to monthly fee or they are not reviewing the renters comments who have lived there or some combination of all the above...then you must see for yourself to become a believer. HOAAH!!!
