I have been a resident of Shelter cove for 2 years now. I was also a resident of this community back in 2004-2005. I have seen this property under the managment of Sawyer realty, Grady realty, and now RAM realty which is by far the worst. The door to my apartment does not fit right and the bottom lock due to this is worthless, the door has a one inch gap under it due to this as well which lets out my heat/AC during the seasons. Which I haven't had too much issues with other tenants I have had plenty of management issues under ram. Let me break it down.
Parking: 1 spot and then some free for all spots that are normally taken by 5. If you live near the main building don't expect to get your spot.
Noise: Never had an issue with this, might be vacant tenants or because I am on the top floor.
Grounds: Look nice, but they have the tennis court locked I rarely see a lifeguard so in 2 years I have not been able to use either.
Safety: I personally have had no issues with my safety besides dealing with my door, but I have seen several cars that have been broken into.
Construction: Nothing great, the appliances could use updating and come additional insulation on the windows.
Maintenance: I have nothing against the maintenance people except that there are not enough for the repairs that need to be done. There are still some damages from when I moved in.
Staff: Great under Sawyer, Dealable atleast under grady, Worthless under RAM. They make you feel like they are trying to get every dime out of you without a return, require 2 month notice on leaving and only hold apartments for 2 weeks. And they don't give a full notice on entering a home. I have a notice on my door this morning informing me that hey will be entering my home for preventative maintenance today.
Overall: Get a new management company in there and you might have something, hire and offduty police officer for the nights for the cars, not too much issue inside the apartments from what I see. And drop the price, houses cost less then rent now.
