Pros and Cons

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004
I've lived at Tamarron for about 2 years, and I can't say it's been a bad experience per se. The maintenance guys are pretty attentive, and the apartments are decent size for the rent. The reason I've stayed there is it's proximity to the grocery store, restaurants, etc.
On the negative side, I've definitely seen a shift in the demographics over the past year or so. There's PLENTY of section 8 welfare families living there for much less than us working folks pay. Also, the cops are there pretty frequently to bust drug dealers in the parking lots and other unsavory characters. Again, probably due to the fact that most people with cash now own their homes instead of rent. And Tamarron is the only rental apartment in Olney, so the dreggs don't have anywhere else to rent.
Parking on weekends becomes a pain because there aren't enough spaces when people have their "peeps" over for parties. So the regular residents sometimes have to park around the corner and walk. It's not that far though.
One annoying structural problem with Tamarron is the fact that the dryers don't vent outside. They vent INSIDE into a canister that you have to fill with water. This creates alot of dust in the apartment, and is just a pain for anyone with allergies. The excuse offered by management was that it's too difficult for them to clean out the vents.
All in all, Tamarron is the only game in town. As long as you're careful at night and don't mind the very diverse demographics, you'll be ok.
