Nice place, starting to show improvement

The apartments are spacious and the amenities are great. The staff has improved greatly over the past two years.
Around the time of the murder in 2002 (which occurred after I had lived there for only a few months), I had some very serious problems with the staff's apparent indifference to the fact that they had rented apartments to a unlicensed adult care business whose owner seemed to have quite the criminal past. To make this worse, following the murder, they took about 2 months to remove the tenants from the other apartments they had rented to this same business who were continuing to reside there and thus continued to have access to our buildings. Although the safety issue was clearly the biggest of my concerns, there were a number of other small problems at that time that caused me to dread dealing with or calling about even the most minor of maintenance problems as they seemed to never be resolved after one visit or one call and required constant hounding and following up.
However over the past few years things have improved greatly and in responding to maintenance calls and other inquiries the staff has completely turned around and made big improvements to their past record.
One thing I would still like to see is that certain lease terms for other tenants be enforced more often. For example, I have been looking at an old, ugly snow blower/leaf blower being stored on someone's balcony for about a year now and other such unsightly items left out by others for the past two years despite the fact that the lease expressly states that such items are not to be stored on the balconies. Additionally, other tenant?s pets frequently are walked in areas that they shouldn?t be leaving unattractive yellow spots all over the lawns. The staff does not take the time to walk through the entire community regularly to make sure that things are in order and that tenants are following the rules. It would be great for the rest of us who considerate and do take care of the community, if the staff could start addressing that sort of thing.
