I am moving out at the end of the month and it honestly couldn't come soon enough. When I first moved into the complex everything was great but things have gotten progressively worse in the last six to seven months. There is continually large groups of 10 male teenagers hanging out in front of my building doors or in the stairwells; they also congregate in the fitness room to sit on the equipment and watch tv which makes it impossible to work out. There is constantly trash in the hallways and surrounding the mailboxes. Management has gotten progressively worse and they are impossible to reach. The fitness center, as they call it, always has at least one thing broken. The equipment is really getting worn and they have been promising new equipment since I moved in a year ago. To top it off they are raising rent on a one bedroom plus den to over $1300/month for 2008, quoting that it is the "market rate" in Owings Mills. For that price I would expect nicer ammenities and security to patrol the premises to keep people who don't live here to not gather late at night on the property.

I understand everyone's issues are the same and I am often leary of opinions posted on sites such as these. The problems might be mainly localized to my building but I am just sharing my recent experiences in the complex, weight them as you like.

I agree. The groups of black teenagers is very peculiar. They are always hanging around with nothing to do. They are usually in the fitness center from 8pm-midnight watching tv or casually sitting on the equipment. They often migrate to the computer room and search facebook and myspace all night long. I'm not sure if they all live in the complex or they just go to a friends apartment and hang out in the hallways. I also see a group of older black men in the parking lot usually at odd hours of the night. They congregate by the pool entrance area with their cars running and headlights on. Their music is usually blasting. I do not get involved, but it seems like illegal activity going on. I'm usually not judging of ------, since I am one myself, but I moved out of the city to get away from it all, and it seems like they are all coming up to Owings Mills. Sorry if this offends anyone, but I am being as honest as I can be to help out anyone else who is concerned with this type of behavior.
