With the exception of the drug dealer comments I echo most of the comments previously written (good and bad):
1. As far as the treatment being worse because a person is white, I disagree; it's equally poor office service for all.
2. I have not heard or seen any drug activity
3. Maintenance quality is potluck; depending on your problem and who you draw service may be okay or it may be dismal to the point that you wish you could fix it yourself.
4. I'm on the top floor and get lots of silverfish and black ants.
5. I live for the days when my neighbor has conjugal visits--it's better than porn.
6. I dread the mornings when the kids misbehave; we all get punished.
7. If you can afford the $80 for a garage do so. You'll save on headaches and stress down the road.
8. Trashcans fill up frequently, but mainly because there are so many people moving in/out who are disposing of large items. Trucks come twice a week.
9. UPS often will not ring the bell (even if you are home) they just leave a notice and you must retrieve your pkg from the office w/in 3 days.
10. "Gym" will make you claustrophobic; it comfortably accommodates maybe 4. No other attractions onsite.

I do have a friend who also lives in the complex who watched a resident/guest shimmy up and down the length of the building on the drain thingamajigs 3 weeks ago. Not sure if Spiderman was on Winterset Way or Clairlee Drive though. Not sure what he was trying to prove either.

I wouldn't say the complex has gone down. I say because of the poor sound insulation and the horrible parking there is a LOT of turnover. Tow trucks patrol at least once daily--it used to be 11pm but they changed it to the morning hours shortly before 6 now. Like I said before, if you can get a garage do it.
Outside of the issues above which you'll get used to, the place is VERY peaceful.

Update:
I moved earlier this year (2008), and I can certainly say that in the 2 years since I posted my initial review most issues were no longer present. The only complaint I had when I left was the lack of sound insulation.

The office management/staff was relaxed and responsive. Calls were returned promptly. Maintenance was--well great.

I'm pleased to report that when I left the complex had changed for the better. Rating upgraded.
