For starters before believing what I or anyone else posts here, your best bet is to check with someone who currently lives at Winterset to get the best information on the place. Its an awful place to live if you live on the first or second floor. The walls are so very very thin and even the property manager who lives on the premises has issues with her neighbor who lives above her and has a cat that runs around all the time and just think that if you can hear a cat, you can certainly hear the loud ass kids who run around all the time. The atmosphere of the place and changing and you can see that the turnover rate is so high that they are now renting to anyone. Management here could not care less about whatever issues you have. Instead of assisting with helping with a problem you may have with a neighbor, they simply tell you both two different stories, fueling the fire and never coming to any type of end result. I have neighbors above me who have a two year old and between her running and them chasing her around like maniacs and management so scared to really address anything, its making for a horrible place to live once you are locked into a lease. If you are interested and would like to experience living at Winterset first hand, simply send me an email and I have no problem allowing you to spend a good 10 minutes in my apartment (it won't take longer than that believe me) and you can hear for yourself how deafening the sounds can be. There is no mutual respect or cooperation amongst the tenants because its not encouraged by management and once the noisy tenant knows that, they simply continue because they know nothing will be done other than them receiving a pleasant letter saying keep it down some. This is generally a complex of nice, professional, hard working people until you throw in the mix loud neighbors who dont realize they live in an apartment building and you should at least try and be courteous of each other but no. In the building I live in I have had to on more than one occasion leave the neighbors above me a note asking him to turn down his loud music. He plays it so loud the walls in the entire building vibrate and others who I am friendly with in the building will ask did I hear it or what I thought but didnt want to say anything fearing it would just get worse because management wouldn't do anything. They often can't believe that someone would even do that but thats the current mentality of those they are renting to. But again, see for yourself. The apartment they show you when you are interested in the complex is nothing compared to experiencing the noise yourself so if you'd like to sit a spell and experience the running of the races that can occur, send me an email and come sit a spell. You will run like hell!!!! Noise is a major, major problem and the uncaring management only negatively add to the equation. The only good thing about Winterset is the maintenance staff are very competent and polite. email greatcooking@comcast.net
