I love it here

My husband and I moved here last year and we really like it. If you have a pet, like we do, you live on "the pet side" of Cascades Overlook, rather than the main part of the complex. Where we are is so nice and quiet. There are only a few buildings, so it's very easy to get to know your neighbors. In this past year, we have only had call maintenance two times, and they we there next day. We did have one nasty run in with the management office, but that's because we were 2 days late with our rent...that was our fault. The apartments are at least 1500sf, so there's lots of room. And even though it can be a pain at times, the entry to the building is resident controlled. I have never felt unsafe here. When my husband had to work at nights or go away for a couple days, I never had anything to worry about...even after we had the baby.

Now, I am going to agree with parking issues. Parking here is a beast. If you don't come home and stay home after work, you will not park anywhere close to your building. And, since they've gone through and marked new "no parking" areas, parking has become even worse. I also have an issue with people not picking up after their pets. They have the doggie clean up stations scattered everywhere, and I just don't understand why people don't use them.

We live on the middle level. I have never heard anything from my neighbors below or beside us. Now, the lady that lives above us (we call her bigfoot) is a very heavy walker. Sometimes, we do hear her walking down the hall, but we've grown to tune it out.

Even though we do live on the pet side, many people here do not own pets, they just prefer the nice atmostphere. The rent is a little high, but it seems like that's what you have to pay for space and security in this area. I can't speak for the main part of the complex, but the pet side is great, and I can honestly recommend it.
