After viewing a model apartment, seeing my actual unit (from the outside only), and touring the neighborhood at different times of the day and evening throughout the following week, I decided not to rent an apartment at this community. I got cold feet. I was worried about being in a ground-floor apartment with sliding glass doors to my bedroom, facing the parking lot, especially after seeing the reviews about knife fights, meth heads, and vandalism. The neighborhood is rundown. The buildings look old and shabby. There were too many red flags. Chase Lea just doesn't give me a feeling of safety.
