I've lived at the Gates for nearly a year and 1/2. I had several run in's with the same manager most of these reviews vilify (I also had VERY little luck with the corporate office). Needless to say, I didn't attend her going away party. Things at the rental office have improved markedly since her departure. The girls that work down there have ALWAYS been very nice and continue to be efficient, competent, outgoing and friendly. I've rarely been in the office for more than a few seconds before one of them greeted me with a smile. The maintenance staff is responsive, polite and very competent. The grounds are always well manicured and snow removal has never been a problem (sidewalks as well as parking areas cleared and salted/sanded - I've been here thru' two winters). The pool is quiet and lovely in the summer, never overcrowded. It's a gated community which is annoying if you forget your card but there's always plenty of parking. The apartments are well insulated; I've very rarely heard my neighbors. The balconies are fairly large compared to some I've seen, plenty of room for a couple of chairs, some plants and a small table for beverages. The apartments are very open and roomy and the closets are huge. I have an abundance of positive things to say about this community since the wicked witch of the east moved away. If I was pressed I'd have to say that the fitness room is a bit small but since I've only used it once or twice, who cares'

Hello to the last responder.. I currently live in Silver Spring, Md and I am looking for a new place....I am going to be up front and honest where I currently live they have rodents and I pay over 1,300 a month! SInce your stay have you or any of your neighbors had any rodent or pest problems (MICE /ROACHES)? THANK YOU ! HAVE A NICE DAY!
