CONS: Each apartment has a security system, which costs extra to activate, we were not told this when we signed the lease. It beeps randomly, and the staff does not know how to fix it. This is not all the staff does not know how to do. The Metro station seems to bring some of the crime and people from Baltimore and surrounding areas. The management is not overly friendly or helpful, and often just do the minimum they need to do each day. The place is not clean, they don't vacuum the hallways or get those carpets cleaned and the place is filthy! It took the staff months to get people to stop letting their dogs defecate in the parking garages! You will pay a LOT for the power bill, as the water heaters have a VERY low energy rating. This apartment also does not recycle, despite the fact that the county does. The thermostat was not digital or one that could be programmed! The place looks nice on the surface (such as the area they will show you when trying to get you to sign a lease), but details were really lost while designing it! The kitchen is not designed to cook in, but only to look nice, as the kitchen sink is too small and there are huge corners with no cabinets, just empty space you cannot get to. The location of things like the circuit boxes and light switches are odd, too! Who puts a light switch in the corner of the room behind the closet door' The carpet is a very poor quality and falls apart when vacuuming it and gets random stains. Also, who really needs 4 bath room sinks in an apartment but no linen or storage closet' There is a lot of noise from the kids screaming and car alarms from the AMC theater next door and the mall (which has at least 40% of the stores closed, including a major department store). While some of this noise is to be expected, the crime from those areas coming into the apartment complex is a serious problem!!!

PROS: The gym is very nice and has lots of great machines, but expect a lot of people sitting on the machines watching the TVs and not really exercising or parents letting their kids play with weights. The pool is good, but the hours are not great, and it closed too early in the season! We have not had problems with noise from other apartments, but we are on the top floor. The bathrooms are a nice size and the washer and dryer can fit very large loads of laundry. The location is great for getting onto 795 and then 695, but you will need to take the horrible buses or drive to get to the Metro station. It is also near grocery stores, produce markets, restaurants, banks, and the post office. The garden crew was wonderful, and did a great job planting some beautiful landscaping!

UPDATE: We have since moved out of this apartment, and I could not have been happier! And we were not the only ones, 4 other apartments were moving out that same weekend! It is like rats jumping a ship. Don't move here... the management really does not care about anything other than getting your rent check each month. Each time we came into the office it was like we were bothering them. And those lights I mentioned in the post above... were still not fixed when we moved out in 7/08! They also never vacuumed the hallway, or cleaned common use spaces like the stairwells. Of course, it would be nice if the residents did not throw food and trash all over the place!

Did you not see the Movie Theather and Mall prior to moving in? Can't blame everything on the Management team, when the proposed occupant does not take a simple look around before signing the lease.
