Parking - Plenty of space; but experienced vandalism of gum intentionally smashed onto roof of car, teenagers sitting on car in parking lot and a 3am wake up call from the police after a hit and run did $7K damage to our brand new car.

Noise - Neighbors are always shouting out front; teens hang out in the stairwell. Complained to office and for a few days it seemed better it didn t last. Fights in parking lot will wake you in the middle of the night. Ironically, you don t hear the people in the apartments below/beside you just outside. Active crossroads are very busy with traffic and noise.

Grounds The trees in summer are a beautiful pink and they do TRY to make it look nice, but the trash during the year ruins what could be a nice area. The maintenance crew cleans up trash every morning from the grounds but there is always garbage strewn through the neighborhood. The further from the office you get, the worse it looks. Plastic drink bottles, fast food bags full of trash, food containers from local grocery and more empty bottles of alcohol than I care to recall. You can tell where the gang/teens hang out. Have pictures. Several pet owners neglect to curb their dogs while walking them and the complimentary bag stations are not refilled often for residents to use. Tennis courts: advertised 24-hour lights haven t worked at night for 10 of the 12 months we lived there. Brought up with office several times and was told the timer wasn t working; one of the other office staff that s gone now said it was basically a matter of just being too expensive to maintain.

Safety Drive-by shootings (including bullets, screeching tires and police in July 08). Teenagers hang out in the stairwell and are reluctant to move even when you try to get by; received verbal threats while walking in the neighborhood and threats of physical violence to pet. Incurred $7K damage to brand new car from hit and run while it sat in the parking lot in front of apartment; police never solved. Teens were caught sitting on car and shouted profanities when asked to leave. Gang graffiti spray painted on surrounding fences. I do not recommend walking alone, or even with a dog, in this neighborhood after dark.

Construction The renovated apartments are lovely; vaulted ceilings, plenty of space, a fireplace, track lighting, very nice but watch out for the windows! The windows weren t seated well when installed and there are visible gaps that you can do nothing about. Expect low quality insulation & high BGE bills: we had to put towels around most windows to stop the cold draft from coming in (or air conditioning from going out). The door lock wasn't seated very well either - could probably slide a screwdriver into the gap and pop it open (thankfully the apartments come with an alarm). Several outlet plates were cracked or missing upon moving in - office never scheduled them to be repaired.

Maintenance Staff is very friendly and quick to respond to issues when you deal with them directly and not the office. Probably the very best thing about this complex is the maintenance crew! They smile and wave when they see you and are pleasant in passing/greeting.

Staff Without listing names, some are fantastic others are not. Our last rent check caught in groove of their deposit box and w/out contacting us they filed paperwork for non-payment with the courts! Sorted the issue, but the staff member wasn t exactly pleasant through the matter.

Location if you have to take 795 or 695 to get to/from Lakeside expect traffic. Lots of it. Mornings and evenings are a nightmare commute with continual stop/go in both directions.
