Hell on earth!

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
This place was a nightmare from the day I moved in. When I moved in, the maintenance man showed up late for my move-in inspection; I was on my lunch break and ended up getting back to work late. It was October and cold at night when I moved in and the heating didn't work. I called the 24 hour maintenance line and they paged the oncall night repairman. He called me and asked if I couldn't wait a day because he had just gotten home and hadn't eaten dinner yet and he lived an hour away. I told him I needed heat that night. He came to fix the heat that night, but he complained about having to be there the whole time. Also when I moved in the water to dishwasher wasn't connected and the balcony door didn't lock. When the leasing agent showed me the apartment, she pointed to the end of the parking lot and said visitor parking was "down there." There is no visitor parking in my area. Residents get one assigned spot but other people routinely park in my spot, about two to three times a week that I know of. I've called maintenance to have the cars towed, but they never tow the cars. When I see the people that are parking in my spot, I ask them not to park there. I had one man threaten to beat me up, after he had parked in my spot and I asked him not to. I have complained to management about this problem, giving the names and apartment numbers of the violators, but nothing has happened. After I had been in the apartment for about three months, I started to notice a gas smell. I called maintenance and they said that a slight gas smell was normal with gas heat. Around the same time I was experiencing neurological problems. I was very sick and I went away for about a week. When I came back to my apartment, the whole place reeked of gas and something burning. I called maintenance and (amazingly) they came out promptly. The maintenance guy said that the furnace was leaking a small amount of carbon monoxide and that the flame was burning the metal casing and the wiring around the furnace. My neurologist said that he's 99.9% sure that a metal or chemical that was burning from the furnace caused my prolem. If they could figure out the exact chemical and prove that the furnace was the cause I would sue them. A few weeks ago there was an electrical fire in the apartment downstairs. The smell stayed in the hallway for over a week. The trashy neighbors apparently thought that the smell from the fire would cover up the smell of their pot, but it didn't. Right now it's over 90 degrees outside and over 100 degrees in my apartment because my air conditioning is broken. I called yesterday, but they said they probably won't get to me until tomorrow. Most of the neighbors are section 8 or unemployed. I can't wait to get out of this apartment. It's a nightmare. The staff are all rude and incompetent. SEk1KnECheF1ATXbXtrZ
