A 17-year-old boy who was fatally shot Sunday night at an Owings Mills apartment complex was the son of a Baltimore police officer, county police said yesterday as the investigation of the killing continued.
The victim was identified as Kevin B. Evans Jr., a resident of the Morningside Heights Apartments in the first block of old Coach Lane, where the shooting was reported about 7:30 p.m., police said.
His father, Officer Kevin B. Evans, is assigned to the city's Southeastern District, county police said.
County police responding to a 911 call reporting gunshots found young Evans lying on the ground between two apartment buildings. He had been shot once in the upper body and died a short time later at Northwest Hospital Center, police said.
