Worst apartment I've ever lived in.

I'm ready to move out of this apartment complex, and the day can't come soon enough.
I moved to Owings Mills from San Antonio and was looking for a decent price on an apartment. I wish I would have found this site before I moved now that I've read the reviews on here.

I asked for a 6 month lease and was told "NO PROBLEM!" and after the 1600 mile drive, they slipped it into a 12 month lease and I wish I had been less tired and caught it. So I was stuck for a year instead of the 6 months like I asked. Everyone was really nice, until I signed the lease.

As soon as I got into the apartment to do the inspection, which normally I go over it with a fine-toothed comb to catch everything so I'm not charged for everything when I move out, but they rushed me, and rushed me, and rushed me and when I found other things wrong with the apartment, i wrote them down, but I doubt they're in my file.

I moved in in the middle of July and found out that the apartment complex started MY bills on July 1. And they had the air conditioning running the whole time. So I got a huge electric bill and they wouldn't do anything about it.
Maintance was "OK" but they put the wrong light switch in so I had to make sure they were both on in the hallway to have the light come on, and its still not fixed.
Then if you move in, I hope you LOVE cockroaches. They have been there since day 1 and I can't get rid of them. They had people in MULTIPLE times and they won't die, then I fogged my apartment, still won't die. I told them that it had to be in the building and I was sick of it, and the exact response "no one else has complained about them, so it must be you". Couldn't believe it.

The Sunday before Christmas I walked down to my car to see that it had been broken into. Called the police, and called the office just to let them know. They're response was "Call the police, there is nothing we can do about it"... nice. I've seen other cars get broken into as well.

You will see police cars in the parking lots at least once a week. And don't be surprised if you get a few knocks on the door and "did you witness..." followed by "an attack" or "a possible robbery" because it will happen, and often. The neighbors aren't the greatest, can't blame the apt complex TOO much for that, but they obviously don't run background checks. They offer 25% discounts to police officers to live there just to have police on property, and there are still no officers (that I know of) living there... they don't even want to.

I asked for a new parking spot after spending $200 to get my glass replaced on my car, and then another $200 for a 2-way alarm system for the car, just so I can SEE the car when the alarm went off, and they told me "No, we won't give you a new parking place, its to much work for us to switch it" and when I asked about me having a 2 bedroom apartment, and should have 2 parking spots, they said "No, every apartment has one parking spot, other tentants have to park in guest spots".

I never felt safe there, and never wanted any friends or family to come over becuase I was afraid they would get broken into or mugged or something.
If you can GET one of the washers or dryers because people aren't leaving their clothes in there for hours at a time, and it actually WORKS... you'll be lucky. Then you have the card they make you pay $15 for (you can't even opt NOT to get it and do laundry somewhere else) and you don't get refunded for. Any money you DO put on the card, you don't get back when you move out. I ended up doing laundry at friends house because of these problems.

By far the worst experience I've ever had. I wish I would have known everything about this aparment first, and known everything that people had told me about the complex AFTER I moved in. I would have avoided this place.

I have lived on the property for the past 4 years , never had a issue with anything or anyone !! I think the office staff is very nice to work with , i've learned your in a apartment not a house !! Maybe people who write nasty comments should just buy a house .

Your a lucky one. Or one of the staff members. This apartment complex is horrible and wouldn't let my worst enemy live there. I'm so happy I'm out. They have a 33% positive rating for a reason. This is obviously one of the workers there.
