We were looking into moving into this beautiful property with very spacious units but I was "red flagged" by the review of someone enjoying their place, but rent went up $100 the second year lease. Has this happened to anyone else' How much does the rent increase year after year'

We've only been there a couple of months, but we were at another Home Properties complex before this one. We also experienced a $100/month price increase back in 2008, ***BUT*** it was due to a combination of things, not just a simple price increase. We lost our $50/month teacher discount, we got a pet which was $20-30 additional, and then the rent went up about $20-30. Altogether, it was $100 from the 2007 lease to the 2008, but it wasn't due to just rent increases.

So yeah, anywhere from $100-$200 per month increase in the second year. Sucks.

It may be the economy or as a result of empty units. My first rent only increased by $35.
