My husband and I moved in at Red Run in the winter of 2005. For the most part the place was pretty nice. The only major problem we had was our noisy neighbors. Once we were settled in for a few months little things began to annoy us.

The traffic off of Lakeside Blvd. is horrible. Trying to leave in the morning can take forever because for some reason drivers think they should go 60mph in a 30mph zone and it makes pulling out difficult. If your apartment faces Lakeside you ll get to listen to traffic noise all day and night. The noise is so bad you cannot have the windows open while watching TV because the traffic noise drowns out the TV.
Parking is a nightmare. Good luck finding a place to park after 7pm and there is basically no place to park on the weekends. Most residents do not know how to park so enjoy seeing double parked cars and all the door dings you will receive.

Pets, no one follows the pet rules. Most pet owners do not clean up their dog s waste so you ll be stepping in a lot of not so nice things. Also, we have come across two dogs that are on the restricted breed list. I do not feel safe walking past Pit Bulls that are not being watched carefully by their owners. I walked past one and the owner barely had his hand on the leash!

Snow removal is terrible. The parking lot does not get cleared all the way. They make a quick scoop of the parking lot and they re out of there. If you park in the end spots, be sure to have a shovel to scoop yourself out. They also do not salt the parking lot or sidewalks very well. I ve slipped a number of times.

The management was fine before they switched to JPI. The new people who work in the office are useless. They are unhelpful, rude, and just unpleasant to work with. If you have a question just wait until you know when the manager is onsite because the other girls are no help. The office has terrible hours so if a package is delivered to the office for you have fun trying to pick it up before 5:30 during the weekend. Most days you can walk into the office and pick you package up and sign it out with no problems. My husband had problems picking up a package for me because his name wasn t on the package.

Maintenance is so-so. For the most part everything is fixed in a timely fashion on the first try. However, our air conditioner is another story. We called maintenance many times to fix our a/c this summer. They came out four times and the problem was never really fixed. Our a/c would not go below 76 and it would run constantly.

Safety is another issue at Red Run. There is an alarming rate of muggings and attacks in the parking lots now. When we first moved in there was probably once incident a year over the past two years the problems are growing worse. We know of two separate residents who almost had their door kicked in by an intruder. Thankfully the intruder did not get into either apartments (these were separate events). The good residents are moving out faster than you can blink and shady residents are moving in quickly.

i whole-heartedly agree with this review of red run apts. my family has been here for a little over 2 years and this place has definately gone downhill(especially since the new management has taken over). we've had enough and are leaving this year...best wishes to the rest of you and i hope your stay here will be better(although i doubt it).

Lived in this apartments for 2 years and finally moved out in May 2007. Since the day JPI took management took over this place I could see this place is going down stream. Arrogant management, hopeless service, residents don't care for people around, park their cars even in fire lanes almost seen different flavors of residents from good to worst. I lived in 2nd phase (new apts) liked the view when I moved in but not any more...trust me the amount I pay for 2 bed room would at least expect some friendly response from management team but its of no use because they dont know what they are doing and I wonder how people are still entertaining these JPI folks..

So many things are a matter of opinion and I don't want to argue every point, even though I am a satisfied tenant of a year and a half. But people who are "useless"? Oh, please. For my family, everyone we have dealt with, from the people in the office to the maintenance men and the groundskeeper, have been responsive and pleasant.

to margmary: maintenance ppl are great there. but the office folks are not. They charged us 1200 dollars when we moved out in the end of 2006, and when we drive by where we used to live we can see they did not change the things that we so-called "damaged". i am so glad i am not there and I hope you continue to not have problems with management, but you will, its inevitable. the car dinging really got on my nerves. I bought a new car in 2003 and took such good care of it and when i moved there people dinged the crap out of it. I have several $100s in dings and it annoys me every time i look at them!

Costs and the new Managemnt is NOT WORKING. The APT's are all in need of repair, paint is needed and is not getting done. Overall like most say, these are heading downhill~~~ Me and the couple next to me are looking to get out APAP. Parking is a big issue, they think(MGMT) has addressed this, but not really, spaces are tight, limited and dark.
