Not bad

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I moved into one of the old apartments at Red Run in May 2007. I liked the apartment because it was very spacious and was roommate style. When I checked out the apartment I realized the tub had rusty scratches on the bottom and when I told the leasing office, it was fixed before I even signed a lease. I do hear people above me but that's normal when people live above you. Mostly in the bathroom and if I have everything off in my apartment.
The insulation is fairly poor; the bedroom near the stairwells gets cold in the winter and hot in the summer, but since it doesn't really affect the other rooms I just close the vents so the cool/warm air is diverted to that room.
The only problem I have had w/ pests is those little water bugs and spiders (which I have seen at every apartment I have lived). I have had pest control come into my apartment twice due to other tenents complaints (i guess), but as long as they are on top of things before they become a problem i am good. Additionally the bees are a slight problem. I have a wasp nest on my balcony and some wasps entered my apartment last week. And there are bumble bee nests near the entrance areas of some of the buildings.
I don't like the parking situation sometimes. There is a person who has a motorcycle who likes to park it in a prime parking spot and it just sits there for months and then if they actually take it out for a ride, they move another car in that spot so they can be guaranteed that spot later.
People are also rude who have dogs. If you can't be responsible enough to take care of your dog by picking up after it, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ONE!!!! It has been getting worse as I have seen some dog crap on the sidewalks and on curbs next to parking spaces!!! That's disgusting.
I am upset that the rate for the apartments has gone down. I came into the apartment last year and got a rate of $1210, and now I have just seen that the rates are down from $1100-$1150! I may see if I can negotiate this considering I live in one of the older apartments, so this means someone who lives in one of the newer apartments with a similar floorplan may be paying less than me.
Overall, Red Run is an average apartment and is fairly inexpensive for the amenities and size of the apartments compared to those in other areas. I am not likely to renew my lease because it seems like it has gone downhill a little in the past year and I would like to leave before I start to hate it.
