I used to live in a one-bedroom apartment for the first two years('01-03), and I loved it. When the garbage disposal didn't work, I called the maintance line and a friendly maintance guy came to fix it. That happened twice or thrice (one for AC not working, and one loose rail); they sent the maintance to repair immediately. I loved my apartment so much because of the space! I never had problems with sounds, but keep that in mind that I am deaf. But I did have a dog then, if there were sounds, she would bark- but she never had barked. I felt so safe there. I had made friends with some neighbors.
Then in '03 to '04, I moved into a two-bedroom apt with a roommate- and it was still wonderful. I remembered the hurricane that hit Baltimore. We had a lot of trees down in the back (that's what our apt faced) I missed the trees, but it certainly took a while before they removed the fallen trees. But in all, the apartments were wonderful. I'd not mind living there again. (I moved to another state to attend college)
